Nighthawks Drop Lady Canes in Dahlonega

DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team fell 10-0 to North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference match at the UNG Soccer Complex in front of 744 Wednesday.

The Nighthawks (9-3-2, 6-2-0 PBC) scored first in the 8th minute when Renee VanHorn found the back of the net off a pass from Rosie Embley. The Nighthawks added their second goal in the 9th minute after Brynn Finneran put away an unassisted goal to put GSW in an early hole. UNG added four more goals to take a 6-0 advantage into the break.  

Georgia Southwestern (0-12-0, 0-7-0 PBC) goalkeeper Sammie Conley made 13 saves during her 73 minutes in goal, giving her 118 saves on the season. Ellie Cook made two saves after coming on for Conley in the second half.   

Up Next: The Lady Canes travel to Francis Marion for the final road game of the 2017 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m on Saturday.
