13th-Ranked Bobcats Blank Lady Canes

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team struggled to generate an offensive attack as No. 13 Georgia College scored five goals, three in the second half, on the way to their first Peach Belt Conference victory of the season Saturday evening at Bobcat Field. 

Georgia College (6-1-1,1-1-1 PBC) scored their first goal in the 22nd minute when Amanda Bartholomew scored unassisted to put the Bobcats up, 1-0. Seven minutes later, Anya Mancinelli scored with an assist from Bartholomew as she finished from the bottom left corner to put her squad up 2-0 going into halftime. 

In the second half, GC kept the momentum going, scoring three times within ten minutes. To start off, Bartholomew scored her second goal in the 80th minute to push the Bobcats up 3-0. In the 88th minute, both Sofia Lekas and Mancinelli scored to to push their squad to the 5-0 victory. 

GSW (2-5-0, 0-2-0 PBC) had five total shots for the night, with Alisa Barr getting the only shot on goal. The Bobcats had a 9-1 lead in corner kicks over of the Lady Canes as they also took a total of 42 shots on the night, 17 of them being on goal. Barr led GSW with three shots, followed by Leila Hamed and Eduarda Giusti who both took one shot each.
