AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern tennis teams opened the week with a pair of victories over Oxford College at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex on Sunday afternoon, then lost both matches against Columbus State on Wednesday.
GSW WOMEN 8, OXFORD COLLEGE 1
The Georgia Southwestern women's tennis team rolled past Oxford College, 8-1, on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.
Leady Cuellar, Ginny Jones, Melinda Vansant and Jessica Rigdon won on both the doubles and singles sides for the Lady 'Canes.
Cuellar and Mollie McGowan picked up their 12th singles victories of the spring. Vansant won her team-high 14th singles match of the season.

The 8th-ranked Columbus State women's tennis team had little trouble getting past Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference play, posting a 9-0 victory.
With the loss, GSW drops to 12-9 overall and 2-8 in the PBC. Columbus State, ranked eighth in D-II and second in the Southeast Region, improves to 12-4 overall and 9-1 in the PBC.
