GSW finishes 7th at Remembrance Run

AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern cross country team finished in seventh place out of nine teams at the Second Annual GSW Remembrance Run held on Saturday. Lisa Espino led the Lady Hurricanes for the second-consecutive meet, finishing the 5K course in 22:11 for 25th place out of 70 competitors.

Freshman Micah Bucher followed for GSW in 29th place with a 22:30 time and Kelsey Baker took 39th at 23:29.

Mollie McGowan crossed the line 46th. Leady Cuellar and Lauren Brown finished in order, 52nd and 53rd, respectively. Katy York took 61st.

With 50 points, Columbus State finished ahead of Clayton State (56) for the team title. 

Brittney Skiles, an unattached runner, crossed the finish line first with a time of 19:20.

The Lady Hurricanes return to action on Oct. 1 when they head to Albany for the Darton Invitational.
