Record-Breaking Performances At Remembrance Run

AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern women's cross country team placed three runners in the top 10 to finish second overall at the Third Annual GSW Remembrance Run on Saturday morning. Freshman Jessi Young led the Lady Hurricanes on the 5K course at Southland Academy with a time of 21:12. Young was the individual runner-up in the four-team event and her time set a school record.

Lisa Espino posted the second-fastest time for GSW with a 21:35 and Micah Bucher grabbed the third slot for the Lady Hurricanes, crossing the finish line 10th overall at 22:31.

Nakora Mackey placed 14th with a time of 23:16 and Mollie McGowan was one slot behind Mackey with her 23:35.
