Young Leads Dual Meet Against Columbus

COLUMBUS - The Georgia Southwestern cross country team competed against Columbus State at the University Thursday afternoon. Jessi Young paced the Lady Hurricanes by finishing the 2 mile course in 12:44.21 for 1st place out of 13 competitors.

Lisa Espino continued her senior campaign with a time of 13:33.57. The freshman Daria Woods was the third GSW runner across the line in 14:05.73.

Linda Esparza was the next Lady Hurricane to cross the line with a time of 14:30.40. Raven Martin completed the race next in 15:05.87 earning 10th place. Mikaela Shimko finished the race for the Lady Hurricanes with a time of 15:51.10.

Columbus State finished the meet with a total of 21 points compared to the Lady Hurricanes 34 points.

The Lady Hurricanes return to action September 28th when they head to Darton College in Albany, Ga. for the Skiles Farm Run.
