AMERICUS, Ga. — Maya Boynton led the Georgia Southwestern State University women's cross country team at the GSW Bash, on Friday morning. Boynton paced the Hurricanes by completing the 5K course at Council Farms in 31:56.3, to take 11th place out of 18 competitors.

JK Shivers crossed the finish line second for GSW on Friday with a time of 35:39.9, good for 14th place. Madison Griffis (35:57.9) and Maggie McDonald (35:58.8) followed for the Hurricanes in 15th and 16th respectively.

The Hurricanes finished with 63 points, 43 behind winner Shorter University.

April Jacobson from Shorter crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 21:07.2
