Canes Split Double Header Over Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern baseball splits the doubleheader of conference rival Young Harris College Saturday afternoon.

Game 1 W, 6-4 (10th)

GSW got the scoring going early getting three hits and scoring a run in the second t inning. Young Harris tied the game in the third inning collecting one hit and scoring a run. The teams would trade runs until the top of ninth when the Canes tied the game at four on a Hunter Foster home run that sent the game to extras. GSW would go ahead and score two runs in the 10th Grant Adams closed out the game for GSW as they went on to win 6-4.

Jared White had a perfect game at the dish going 4-for-4 and added an RBI White was one of five Canes players who recorded multiple hits. 

Rijnaldo Euson started the game for GSW he tossed six innings giving up seven hits and four runs] three were earned and struck out nine batters.

Grant Adams got his third win of the season coming in relief duty tossing four innings and striking out five batters.

Game 2 L, 7-4

Georgia Southwestern State baseball loses the second game of the doubleheader 7-4. 

GSW had a decent game batting, especially Grant McDonel who went 4-for-4 and an RBI.

Carsen Plumadore started the game for the Canes he tossed four innings and gave up seven hits and three runs as he earned the no-decision. Colby Gordon got his first loss of the season pitched 1.2 innings and gave up a run.

 The Hurricanes will be traveling to Carrollton, Ga. to face off against the University of West Georgia (15-4) in midweek a game at Cole Field first pitch 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
